The Joint National Conference on Cybersecurity (ITASEC26) invites proposals for Workshops, Tutorials & Joint Workshops & Tutorials to be held in conjunction with the first day of the main conference on February 9, 2026, which will take place in Cagliari, Italy. We solicit proposals for full and half-day workshops, half-day tutorials, and full-day workshop+tutorial on current and emerging topics relevant to cybersecurity.
Workshops will allow discussion of both well-defined and novel topics in a small and interactive atmosphere. They can concentrate in-depth on research topics, but can also be devoted to industrial applications, on-going relevant EU project results, issues, or questions concerning the research and industrial aspects of cybersecurity. In particular, each Workshop should be organized under a well-defined theme focusing on emerging research areas, challenging problems, and/or industrial/governmental/societal/ethical issues related to cybersecurity. Novel ideas, controversial issues, open problems, and multi-disciplinary issues are strongly encouraged as workshop topics. Workshops are intended to allow projects or any other group of authors to present their own work.
Workshops may include invited speakers, papers, and panels. The structure of workshops is not fixed, and proposers may design it as they think best. Proposers are responsible for defining the full contents of the Workshop, announcing the Workshop and disseminating calls for papers, making and maintaining the Workshop website, gathering submissions, conducting the reviewing process, managing proceedings and their publication if any, and deciding upon the final Workshop program. Workshops with only invited speakers are also possible.
On the other hand, Tutorials are intended to provide a comprehensive introduction to established or emerging research topics of interest to the cybersecurity community. These topics include related research fields or applications, but also well-developed tools and suites that may support Cybersecurity researchers and practitioners. The ideal tutorial should attract a wide audience. It should be broad enough to provide a basic introduction to the chosen area, but it should also cover the most important topics in depth. Each tutorial should be well-focused so that its content can be covered in a half-day slot. Proposals that exclusively focus on the presenter’s own work or commercial demonstrations are strongly discouraged.
Multidisciplinary workshops and tutorials that bring together researchers and practitioners from different communities are particularly welcome.
For relatively novel but rapidly maturing topics, we also encourage a format that combines a half-day tutorial followed by a half-day workshop.
Proposal Evaluation Criteria
The submitted proposal will be evaluated by the Chairs according to the following criteria (in order of importance):
- Quality and completeness of proposal
- Timeliness and suitability for the Italian Cybersecurity community
- Interest and relevance of the topic
- Organizers’ experience
